Large Half Brick Half Timber House

War games terrain

This large 28mm scale house was constructed using Hirst blocks cast from a similar material used to make chess pieces for the brickwork and a mixture of woods individually cut for the timbered section. The roof was built out of tiny individual pieces of card stuck onto a wooden base. Both the main building and small lean-to have removable roofs to allow your wargames miniatures to be placed inside. The whole model was then mounted on a piece of ply-wood that was covered in seven different kinds of basing materials to get away from that ‘bowling green’ look you sometimes see. The tree next to the house is also made by Hutch and is removable from the base. Although not official wargames Workshop or any other manufacturer and in no way linked to any company this house would not look out of place in almost any fantasy wargame or roleplaying game for example Warhammer Fantasy Battle or Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay. It would also fit in very nicely with Historical wargaming in periods such as the The English Civil War, or WW2 as it was built with both the slate tile effect roofs and thatched roofs. Pictures of the thatched example can also be found in this wargames scenery gallery. For pictures of this piece of wargames terrain in action take a look at the wargames in Progress photos. This house is very sturdy and has a weight of about 1.5kg. If you are interested in having buildings made then why not drop me an email detailing what kind of thing you are after?
